Nursing (RN-BSN for UPMC Nurses) Overview

UPMC nurses can now earn their RN-BSN online from Chatham University tuition-free. This partnership between UPMC and Chatham aligns Chatham’s tuition costs with UPMC annual tuition advancement, which means you can earn a BSN degree from a leader in online nursing education for over 20 years at no cost to you (some restrictions apply). More details and specifics on this educational benefit to UPMC nurse employees are outlined below.

Why Earn A BSN?

Lots of reasons! Earning a BSN can dramatically increase your earning potential: BSN-prepared nurses earn on average $600K more over the lifetime of their career. It will also help you advance up UPMC’s My Nursing Career Ladder, expanding your opportunities. And finally, when you earn your BSN from Chatham, you’ll obtain nursing skills that you can put immediately into practice, improving patient care.

Pace Yourself

This program offers flexible fall and spring start dates with a convenient part-time track structured to help students succeed by balancing work and school. All students in the program should pursue a part-time track (6-9 credits per semester). If a student wishes to enroll in more than nine credits per semester, it must be approved by an advisor, and the student will be billed for the additional credits at the program's per-credit rate. The UPMC partnership will only cover the costs for part-time enrollment per semester for as long as it takes the student to complete the program.
